Cyprus Noir

In 2013, Theo was profiled by Sean Chamberlain for Apollo, Cyprus Airways' in-flight magazine, in a piece titled "Cyprus Noir."

The article traces Theo's early love of drawing back to arriving in the UK as a five-year-old unable to speak English — "I didn't speak English, so I think that's where the art started… I started expressing myself through drawing" — through to comic books, classic film, and eventually oil painting.

''There's a lady who wants to meet one of the men in my pictures… I have to constantly disappoint her by telling her they don't exist!''

And on his working method: "I spent a lot of time studying perspective, so now I can play with it. I can stretch reality. I have the skills to do it. You have to know the rules before you can break them."
