London made Theo a painter. He lived there for years, and it was in the city, in a flat in Swiss Cottage, in front of a reproduction of Edward Hopper's Nighthawks, that something first clicked.

In 2004 he visited the Hopper retrospective at Tate Modern, and left knowing he was going to paint full time. It wasn't just the technical mastery that spoke to him. It was the atmosphere, the noir, the sense that ordinary urban scenes could carry enormous emotional weight.

London has been part of his visual language ever since. The wet pavements, the red buses, the figures moving through the city each absorbed in their own story. These are paintings by someone who knows the city not as a tourist but as a resident, someone who once stood on these streets and looked at them the way a painter looks at things.
