There are moments in everyday life that stop you — a lit window at night, a glimpse of something intimate happening inside while the world outside is dark and unaware. This is what drew Edward Hopper to the diner counter in Nighthawks, and it's what drew Theo to this barbershop.

The scene itself is simple. A barber at work, a client in the chair, the ritual of it. But seen from outside, through glass, at night — it becomes something else. Private. Almost theatrical. The contrast between the warm interior light and the darkness beyond gives it that quality Hopper understood so well: ordinary life made quietly extraordinary by how you choose to look at it.

This is the original oil painting — the only one that exists. Oil on canvas, hand-signed and dated by Theo Michael. A certificate of authenticity is included.
